Nat Scammacca
Nat Scammacca nato a Brooklyn nel 1924, ha partecipato alla Il guerra mondiale come ufficiale pilota in Cina, India e Birmania insieme al fratello gemello Saverio.
Alla fine della guerra, decise di scoprire le sue origini siciliane e dopo brevi soggiorni a Parigi e Barcellona, studiò l'Italiano presso l'Università per Stranieri di Perugia. Nel 1965 si stabilì in Sicilia a Trapani per rimanerci, con la moglie Nina e le figlie Glenn e Arleen e con i nipoti Elena e Nadir

ANTIGRUPPO SICILIANO
Scammacca è, nel contesto dell'antigruppo siciliano, poligrafo attivissimo. Traduttore dall'inglese, memorialista di ottimo impianto narrativo, polemista e teorico dell'impegno libertario, Nat fra gli scrittori siciliani delle generazioni recenti è forse il più brioso ed imprevedibile. Evidentemente, la sua poesia non può non risentire di tutti questi interessi e si presenta perciò come un felice mélange culturale, scandito in modo nitido, oratorio. La comp- onente più caduca del suo discorso è il grido, la denuncia, Infatti il grido di Scammacca è astratto, concettuale e non possiede ad esempio la rabbia corrosiva di Cane o la corposa umanità di Certa, Ma diciamo che questo connettivo è marginale nella ricerca
